Medical Examination
Rigid medical examination is being required of qualified seafarers to ensure shipowners and foreign shipping principals that the seamen hired are emotionally, psycologically and physically fit.

Pre-Departure Orientation Seminars
SIEMS also conducts the required Pre¬Departure Orientation Seminar to crewmembers. Included in topics being discussed during PDOS are the types of vessels they will board, crews duties and responsibilities, background of the company, ISM code to avoid sea accidents, proper decorum and protocol expected from them as competent seamen. It also gives emphasis on the obligation, dedication and loyalty to the vessel and its owner, superiors, cargo and crewmembers.
